Has your child had an eye exam? The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that children have their first eye exam by six months, again between two and five years, and then annually once in school.
Edgemont Optometry is a proud provider of vision care to children of all ages. Our doctors care about all aspects of your child’s vision, binocular teaming, and ocular health. Through careful examination and personalized treatment plans, difficulties with reading, learning or sports can be diagnosed and improved.
Worried that your child is too young to read letters on an eye chart? Not a problem! Our doctors have lots of other fun ways of testing vision in a positive and interactive setting.
Annual examinations for children are fully covered by BC Medical until they turn 19.
We are proud to be a part of Eye See … Eye Learn, an excellent program run by the British Columbia Doctors of Optometry. It provides a full pair of glasses (frames and lenses) – free of charge – to kindergarten children in North Vancouver District schools who require eyeglasses for a vision issue. Talk to one of our knowledgeable team members to learn more.
Is your child near-sighted? Doctors at Edgemont Optometry are trained to prescribe Myopia Control measures based on exciting new research to help slow down your child’s progression of nearsightedness. Call our office for more information.
